The Proposal

If you are looking for something light-hearted that will make you laugh The Proposal would pass to your taste. This film has plenty of laughs throughout the whole movie, Ryan Reynolds is sharp and funny and makes great eye candy, and Sandra Bullock is fun and funny and as beautiful as ever. I missed this on theater but wouldn't certainly miss this on HBO.

The Proposal is a romantic comedy done right. The eminently likable Sandra Bullock is cast against type as Margaret, a tyrannical New York book editor also known as "The Witch" or "Satan's Mistress." She is a native Canadian without a green card, facing deportation. She compels her long-suffering, put upon assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her. In return, he will get a promotion. And so it is off to Alaska to attend his grandmother's 90th birthday. There are few surprises here, but The Proposal sails along. The veteran ensemble, including Mary Steenburgen as Andrew's mother, Craig T. Nelson as his estranged father, and the great Betty White as the earthy, straight-talking granny, work great together. This taming of the shrew tale may not win points with feminist, but this winning "Proposal" is hard to resist.Rated PG-13.

I love this movie, sis! Sandra Bullock hasn't changed a bit, she's still beautiful and witty. Crush ko si Ryan Reynolds sa movie na yan. ;-)
