House

For a couple of weeks, hubby has been busy with work and calling people about apartments. For the past few months, he has been looking around on craigslist for any available apartment or house to rent this summer. Our lease in this crappy apartment we are renting right now will end at the end of July. We had hoped that we could find a decent place before July first. Last weekend we looked at a 4 bedroom house and a 4 bedroom apartment close by in this neighborhood and the prices were good. But, there was a problem with the house, and the owner was really looking for a buyer to unload it on. It was on the market already, and he has it rented for a while. Plus, there are lots of holes in the wall, the carpet is dirty, and he is not going to replace it. However, the apartment was spacious and clean, but there was no bathtub, and the shower was too small. And both the house and apartment are available only until May. Nevertheless, we didn’t like either one, so hubby called another management about this nice house in a nice location, and he set up an appointment for us to check it out. Last Tuesday, we went there to see the house. We liked the house. It is a three story building with three bedrooms, a dining area, big kitchen, living room, backyard, and a basement with washer and dryer hook-ups. The price was a little bit more than what we budgeted for, but the heck with it. We plan on living in that house for at least three years. We prayed for it because the problem is that it might not be available after May. Hubby talked to the management about our situation. The next day he received a call, and it was good news. They let us have it! We sign up the lease right away and pay the deposit and down payment for it. Finally, we can live in a house. Our babies will have their own bedrooms, I will have a bigger kitchen to cook in, the bathroom is great, and the backyard has a swing set. Jake and our little princess will have a bigger and more spacious place for walking and crawling. All is well that ends well.

My Road Sign to Work

I like driving to work, because they aren't a whole lot of people on the road at that time. When there are too many people on the road, then anytime someone disobeys a road sign, the consequences affect to many people. That is why it is important to follow road signs. This blog will talk about different road signs we usually encountered when we are on the road going somewhere. I also want to share the things I see around me that interest me most while I'm on the road to work, trip, travel and adventures, ride and my journey. This blog is created to teach my wife and kids about the different road signs which is very important when you are driving.

Hi everyone! Shydub here. Hope you and I will learn something with this blog that tackles more on different road signs around the world. I will do most of the blogging here since my husband are so busy at work but he will share tons of information about our blog theme road signs. We will also share our journey, happy rides, and adventures as a family. So, fasten your seat bealts and enjoy the ride.

IRS Helpful?

Okay, here is something that you will find quite unbelievable. I made a mistake. I know. That is hard to believe, but it is true. Okay, maybe that isn’t too hard to believe, but listen to this. I called the IRS today to check on the status of my income tax return, and I had made a mistake, and they fixed it for me. It turns out that I will get an extra 300 dollars on top of what I had previously expected! We’ve all heard the nightmare type stories that people have told about the IRS, but maybe there is hope. Not only did they fix the error and get more money for me, but they are also sending a written explanation with the check explaining what changes they made so that I’ll know about this particular deduction for the future. In years past, I have used the 1040 EZ form to do my taxes, so there really isn’t any danger of mistakes. This year however, since I now have a child, the EZ form won’t do, so maybe the mistake wasn’t so unforeseeable. What is the moral here? Well, there are a few. First, taxes stink! We pay way too much of them. Maybe another is that if you are having trouble doing your tax return, calling the IRS for help is a pretty good idea. Or maybe the moral is simply that we can (to an extent) trust the IRS. Happy tax return season.

Confounded Conficker Worm!

Well, here we are on April Fool’s day, and the paranoia of the conficker worm is alive and well. What is it with these morons that have to go out of their way to try and screw up the lives of hard working people? We don’t have much, but what we have, we’ve earned. The thought that it could all be destroyed by some idiot with an axe to grind with society is downright frightening, not to mention the seventy dollars or so I have to spend per year to keep anti-virus software on the computer. If the person responsible for this (and any other) virus is reading this blog, please stop doing this. If not for the good of the public, then do it for your own good. You’ll gain nothing in the long run by doing this. Hopefully, you’ll be caught and punished severely for your actions. I have worked hard for what I have, and I can’t afford to replace even some of the smaller things that I have, and I would be devastated if my identity were stolen. I don’t have the resources needed to fix all of that. To an extent, we live hand to mouth, and one little slip up would really have some dire consequences. So again, if you’re reading, stop this immediately. Thank you.
