Walking Down Memory Lane

Philippines is one of the great treasures of Southeast Asia, the second-largest archipelago in the world with 7,107 tropical islands. I'm from the Philippines and Im proud of my country. It is the place of natural wonders thats why many travellers wanted to go there for vacation and explore the whole beauty of the place. And what makes this country unique is the hospitality of the people living there and the culture despite of the poverty that afflicts much of the nation, the Filipinos themeselves are among the most ebullient, friendly and easy going people anywhere. Anyways, I just want to share some great places that you might wanna check out when you go to the phillipnes. I have been there but I still want to go back in these places with my family and kids someday. Good thing before I got married I got the chance to go to these places and Man!!! it was fabulous.
This picture was in Bohol, behind us you can see the famous chocolate hills. The smallest monkey in the world which can be found in Bohol; "Tarsier".
The Sugar Beach which can be found in Bantayan Island. They have white sand in there and you can rent cottages and resort for such cheap price.

The place in the picture was so obvious, one of the nice beach in the Philippines, "Boracay" When we were there, my friend and I really had a blast even though we got stranded on the way back because of the typhoon at that time. But the place was awesome that you don't mind about typhoon, and we had a blast exploring the whole boracay and saw local celebrities and of course did some shopping for souvenir
Moalboal is located in the south part of Cebu, they have nice Beach for family swimming, Snorkeling and Diving. Most of the resort in that place are own by foreign business man who choose to to live there and some of them married Filipino Girls.

Our 08' Trip to Vegas

These are old pictures of our last year family vacation to Las Vegas courtesy by My BIL and sister. My BIL Kelly is a South West Airlines Pilot and he gave us two free ticket and at the same time treat us well by touring us around the beautiful places of Las Vegas. Jake was still 4 months old then, and a good sport while we were on the plane and on the car going somewhere. That was a great vacation for us. In fact me and Jake came back to Vegas last January of this year and of course the trip was free again. Here some of the pictures I would like to share during our first vacation in vegas. Aren't they awesome?
Nevada is the seventh largest state in size, the name Nevada means "snowcapped" in Spanish. The state's nickname is the "Silver State," due to the large number of silver deposits that were discovered and mined there. The capital is Carson City and the largest city is Las Vegas. It is the gambling and entertainment capital of the U.S. It has over 200,000 slot machines, one for every 10 residents. It is the driest state in the nation with an average annual rainfall of seven inches. Las Vegas has more hotel rooms than any other place on earth. Las Vegas was given its name by Rafael Rivera, a scout for a Mexican trading party headed to Los Angeles, in 1829. The Las Vegas valley was discovered in 1829 by a trade caravan of 60 men. The travellers named the area "Las Vegas" which was Spanish for "The meadows."
Hoover Dam is the largest public works project ever undertaken in the U.S. and has a greater structural volume than the largest Egyptian pyramid. Working for Hoover Dam was started on the 1931 but the appropriation bill was signed by President Herbert Hoover on July 3, 1930 for the Boulder Dam. When the work for Hoover Dam started Las Vegas' population swelled from around 5,000 citizens to 25,000, with most of the newcomers looking for a job building the dam. The Dam was completed in 1935. During the building of the dam casinos and showgirl theaters first appeared in Las Vegas to entertain the largely male-majority dam construction workers. When the secretary of interior visited the site during the time of probihition one of the subordinates came to him with alcohol breath so it was decided that a federal-controlled town, Boulder City, would be erected for the dam workers. In 1937, Southern Nevada Power became the first utility to supply power from the dam, and Las Vegas was its first customer. After much discussion the name of the dam was changed from Boulder to Hoover Dam. Learn more the History of Las Vegas here.

Exciting Sports for the Summer

In America, there are three sports that rule. We all know that they are football, basketball, and baseball. Let's face it though. All we have in the heat of the summer is baseball, and that can get really boring if you are watching a 4th place team play a 5th place team sometime in mid July. Here is a tip for you. Watch the Tour de France. I had no idea that it was so exciting. I love basketball and football, and I used to think that there were no other sports that could be as exciting, that is until I watched stage 16 of the Tour de France. These guys are as athletically gifted as anyone, and it is surprisingly exciting. Be careful though. Watch it once, and you will be hooked.

Bike Riding

It was summer of 2007 when I got here in the land of US of A. My MIL loves bike riding as her way of exercise. She computed and recorded every mile she ride. She also has this favorite place to go to for bike riding. The bike trail is in Franklin, 10mins drive away from her place. It was a nice, smooth trail to ride a bike. That was my first time riding on a bike again after a very long time. We used to ride a bike going to school when we were little. I was a bit scared the first time being on the bike again, but after few minutes being on that smooth trail I started liking it. I was 2 months pregnant with Jake then, but that didn't bother me coz I was so careful and bike riding i think is good exercise during pregnancy.

Bicycling offers a lot of health benefits, it is a good cardiovascular exercise that could increase the health of your heart. A bike with several speeds will allow you to increase you fitness level as your cardiovascular function improves. Begin by riding at an easy speed over even ground. If what you want is a challenge change your terrain. It help also release your stress and its good for the heart exercise. Here in the US Bike riding is one of the many exercises people do aside from walking, running or jogging. And they do have great trail around here, even other state in the country has a great trail for bike riding. Enjoy your bike riding this summer guys.

I want to share this information I found online for pregnant women.
Question:
What are the benefits of bike riding during pregnancy?

Answer:
Studies consistently show that the more fit you become, the more fit your fetus is for labor and delivery. Women who exercise regularly during pregnancy are less likely to have Cesarean deliveries or require other medical interventions (like artificial rupture of membranes or forceps) during delivery. And their babies are less likely to show signs of stress (such as meconium) during labor.

Biking works the big muscle groups in your legs, back and abdomen. In this way, it helps to tone those muscles, and you'll notice the payoff with improved posture, better back support, less back pain and improved flexibility and strength for delivery.

Working those muscles also helps strengthen your bones and improve blood flow to your legs. The better the blood flow, the less venous congestion in your legs. In the long run, this means fewer varicose veins and less ankle swelling. Women who exercise consistently during pregnancy also report less urine leakage during and after pregnancy, probably because working the big muscle groups also tones the pelvic floor muscles.

Studies show that women who maintain an exercise regimen during pregnancy are more likely to get in shape quickly after delivery – and are even in better shape a year from delivery than they were before pregnancy.

The physiological benefits of exercise during pregnancy, however, are not the main reason to pull out the bike. Cycle to exercise your mind. The fresh air, the escape from the rigors of work, preparation and planning, and the joy of spending time with loved ones is like a delicious mental stretch.

Somewhere over the Rainbow....

Is it true "There's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow"? If it is, I guess last Saturday perhaps had a whole bunch of gold because we saw 2 sets of rainbows up on the sky.
Here's how our weekend went, Friday we went for a ride in the afternoon and stopped by at brusters checked out their ice cream and got stranded for a while because a big drops of rain poured out of no where. Saturday, I had planned already to stay at home and finished ironing but hubby decided to go to Wal-Mart and buy some stuff for the baby and others even if the weather was unpredictable.
Sunday, we visited Mary (my MIL) and get all those things she handed or gave to us such as the kids chair and table, bench, punch bowl, other toys and more. We are almost close to our expected date (baby's due date) and last weekend was the best time to take a trip to her place. It was a busy weekend for us; I still have few clothes needed to be iron soon. The relaxing weekend planned didn't happen for we did a lot of unexpected things on weekend. How about you folks, how was your weekend went?
