I am from the third world country and a case like this (picture above) is commonly happened to some of the houses during rainy season. It's like we have a shower or a faucet on our ceiling when it rains. We got used to it because it's always raining there all year round except for summer. Nevertheless, who would have expected to have this kind of situation here in the US as the first world country? Every thing here is built with strong foundation and high quality materials. My husband thought it was just a coke spilled on our carpet when I first showed him the wet marks caused from this bad boy up on our ceiling (picture above). At that time it already stops snowing and the snow and icicle on the roof had started melting. The icicle that was on our roof when it melted and turn into water leaks on our ceiling. Just look at the picture how the paint became like a bag of water. We called the management but they will take a look at it once the problems of their other tenants who need their attention first will be solved.
Winter season is the time of the year when birds and animals start hibernating. Not just animals hibernates but people too who doesn't like cold. And how can you have a peace of mind and relax when you see your ceiling had grown a boobie that has brown water instead of milk waaaaa. I find that thingy above our ceiling a boobie though. Problem like this, who are you gonna call? Definitely not Ghost buster hehehe... MR. Roofer.
I heard from the news last night that another snowstorm is expected to hit again in Pittsburgh. Oh boy! I ask Mother Nature why? We still have quiet a lot of snow on the ground from the last snowstorm that hit badly in some area in eastern part of the United States. This year is definitely the toughest winter time for since I got here. Well as a matter of fact people say this is the winter that can make history. It had not been snowing like this (2-3 feet snow) for over 20 years. In our side of the world we suffer from freezing weather and snow while in other side of the world they suffer from drought due to El Niño phenomenon. I guess only Mother Nature knows what she's doing.
I think it is about time to take actions and be responsible for our environment. You can make a difference by starting at your own surrounding. You can go green by making compost instead of by just throwing trash. When we throw trash it will get collected and the trash collector will just dispose it in some vacant lot. Seriously, you can buy good quality of compost tumbler if you do not have enough space in your back yard. My mother-in-law has a big backyard so she made compost and when the compost is ready she gave it to her neighbor that needs it for their flowers and garden. She also uses her compost for her hanging tomato that she usually plant and put out during spring time. Spring is almost here, start your own compost now and have a green environment.

After the virus episode we had in our desktop computer couple of weeks ago we feel it is not safe anymore to have all our personal information and file saved in this computer. It was my younger sister who got married first to an American pilot and moved here in the US in 2004. She came back home after almost a year of living here because she got bore and homesick. I capture this colorful bird after the snowstorm when it was resting at our backyard. It was freezing outside in our backyard. It's cardinal bird. They are indigenous in winter weather I think. I always seen different kinds of bird in our back yard like sparrow, cardinal, and others but if I try to go out and take pictures of them they fly away. I was in our kitchen doing our dishes when I saw this bad boy and got a good shot at it because i zoom out my cam.

America just celebrated the President's Day last week to commemorate the birthday of Pres. Lincoln and Washington and also to honor all the Presidents in the United States. It's interesting to learn the history of other country aside from my own country. On the 22Nd of February is Washington's day I'm kind the hoping it's a holiday lol. I just watched at HBO couple of weeks ago the movie Temple Grandin. It was an interesting movie of an autism woman who became successful. This movie will inspire others that being autism is not a hindrance to achieved your dreams and become successful in life. In fact autism kids or persons are smart people. Temple Grandin is a smart and special woman. She can visualize things by picturing it out in her mind. The book is available at amazon.com you should check it out. If only I could bring back time I would take care my teeth very well. Aside from it cost money every appointment, it is also time consuming waiting to be called for your turn. I really need to see a dentist. It's been a while since the last time I went to a dentist for my denture. Read more...After the snowstorm that accumulated more than two feet of snow everybody in our block was so busy shovelling their own driveway. Classes and schools was been cancelled that was the part I like lol. The next days and week still snowing though up until now. 
This was the look of our window last week, but now big icicles hanging on the roof and gutter. 
Since we can't go any where I finished the car seat covers. It was some old towels from my MIL.
Snow is fun but if it too much not fun at all. There are still large amount of snow in our area and the snow on the roof top that is started to melt has form into icicle which might ruin the gutter of our house. The ceiling has already some water dripping since yesterday. We can't do anything about it because we are just renting this house. This house still looks good despite of the fact that it was built more than forty years already. It has three bed rooms, a living room, big kitchen and nice bathroom vanities to keep things in order. Our bathroom is a reflection of our personality.
Anyhow, my friend and her husband just bought a house and they are moving soon once their house is fully furnished. She was looking online a place where she can buy nice and cheap furniture for their living room and bathroom. He was roughly five months old with this one and once again I used my cell phone when he flashed his gorgeous smile. 
Taken when we went to Vegas last year. He was still 10 months old with this one and still crawling. Now look at my buckaroo not just crawling but he can do all kinds of trouble hehe just kidding. From buckaroo to monkey lol.
This is one of my favorite, we were at Pittsburgh airport going to Vegas in this picture. It was snowing when we left our place. We got up at 3:00 in the morning because we had an early flight at that time. This was taken January of last year (2009) and he was a very very good boy that all the flight attendants and other passengers admired him. 
This one was taken by my sister the last time she visited us. She went back to the Philippines last month. I guess no more travel for us to Vegas for now because she will stay there for a year.
This is the latest picture of our lil Monkey. I took this last week, since that time we went to bakla Rose place he always say cheese to the camera. He name the camera cheese. waaa.
Still snowing here at Pittsburgh. Joe didn't have a class for 3 consecutive days which is great hehe lol because there are still large amount of snow on the road. I heard on the news that all this snow has come to an end, no more snowstorm I hope so.
Living a million miles away from my family is hard and the only way to get in touch with them is through long distance phone calls and chatting with them at yahoo messenger. Thanks to high technology for the computers and Internet or else we will spend lots of money on long distance call. In my one year here in the US I got home sick so I made lots of phone calls to my family and paid ridiculous amount of money for those calls. My sister advised me to use Phone Cards in calling to the Philippines so that I could save and keep track of the minutes. I did not listen to her because our phone plan was only 21 cents a minute and thought it won't cost us that much but I was wrong. We decided to have our land line phone service cut off and used cell phone instead. So, now every time I make a phone call to the Philippines I used Calling Cards in my cell phone. You can buy International Phone Cards for $5 and enjoy talking to your family for half an hour. You can also buy International Phone Cards that has no service fee and you can recharge it. This is what my friend use when she calls her family in the Philippines. Calling Cards are convenient to use and you can save as well.
