Shopping Online is Fast and Easy

This is a guest post by Cynthia Major

I recently went out to find a gift for my daughter. Shopping has always been a hassle but I don't think I realized how much of a hassle it has really become until I went out this most recent time. Dealing with shopping crowds and even worse, shopping lines, was not something I took very kindly to. I went out on a Saturday at 9AM for one singular gift, and I did not return home until 6PM that evening. I visited two, count them two stores while I was gone.

This ordeal got me thinking; "There has to be an easier way to shop." I of course am a little behind in the technology times, but I realized that all my friends and family do there shopping online. I never hear them complaining about lines or crowds. At the very least, they will mention that an item is out of stock, but that problem is easily resolved by visiting a different online store, or by simply waiting a few days for more stock to arrive. Once I visited www.satelliteinternetbroadband.com and ordered internet access, my shopping has become fun.

I recently made a purchase online at Best Buy - www.bestbuy.com, and my experience could not have been better. I found exactly what I was looking for within ten minutes. After adding the item to my cart and filling out my payment info, I was done! I went from spending an entire day in two locations, fighting crowds and lines, to spending a total of fifteen minutes on bestbuy.com. I can honestly say that from this point on, I will take care of all my shopping needs online with my hughs net satellite internet. Customer service is faster, there is always service center help available, and clicking a few buttons is way easier than fighting crowds and lines for 12 hours. Christmas, here I come!

New Blog Platform

I have been blogging for more than a year now. It is becoming my pastime and diversion to where I can share my life as well as learning other peoples lives. I have multiple blogs that I manage right now and I am trying not to be tempted to open a new blog. My hand is full and I can't even update all of them everyday. I'm currently using two different blogging platforms blogger and worpress. There are different blogging platforms that you can use for free to share your every day experiences. As a matter of fact there is a new blogging platform right now that you might want to give it a try. The ECPod is a unique blogging platform where your blogs get translated to reach a wider audience. The neat thing about this new platform is, you can attract more readers as your blog get translated into more languages. The blog translation is so easy to use just check it out to see how it goes. It translate blog post from English language to Chinese. It is still new and they would love you to give it a test to know what you think about it by giving feedback or any brilliant idea to improve it. Don't expect anything beyond high standard yet because they are still working hard on it and still debugging so you will enjoy blogging. Click here to check out their leaflet pdf file and find more information. They want to find a small group of bloggers who is willing to join them and build this idea together with them. You can get in touch with them at contact[at]ecpod.com.

Must Have Car

We have said countless of times how car is important in most part of the world especially here in the US. It some third world country car is too expensive to acquire so it's not really a necessity for them. But for some people living in the United State, for them car is a necessity rather than a luxury. A must have vehicle that will take them to work, road trip and places. There are also people who can afford to buy more than one car in their household or buy car as a luxury or collection. For this people, buying Ford Mondeo is not a big of a deal. They can afford to buy as many cars as they want without breaking their wallet.

Want Instant

I think people by nature would always want instant outcome when they want things. There are tons of weigh loss supplements but they choose to try the quick weight loss diet pills and supplement because they want to loss their weight instantly. The reality is you have to work harder to achieve what you want. They can find work to improve their way of life but they'd rather gamble or buy lotto for some luck to win and be rich in one day. We all want things to happen in just a snap of our finger. Sometimes, we really do need a reality check to see that things don't work that way in a lot of times.

Change from Pills to Injection

Yesterday, I did not finish reading diet pill reviews because I had an appointment to my OBGYN that afternoon. I changed my birth control pills and tried the Depo-Provera injection which contains a hormone, progesterone that prevents the release of the egg from the ovary and causes changes in cervical mucus and the lining of the uterus. In other words it is more effective that birth control pills. The problem is it is way expensive than the pill and you have to get it every 3 months. The part that don't like about this injection is aside from the fact it is expensive it is also a hassle going back to your doctor to get the shut and there is change for every appointment you get. The reason why i switch from birth control pill to Depo-Provera injection was the side effects. The injection had side effects too but not as bad as the birth control pill. I also heard that with the injection you get hungry all the time. This would mean that the diet is going to be hard to achieve.

Smoke Alarm Alarmed

Smoke detector or also know as smoke alarm for household is a device that detects smoke, typically as an indicator of fire. Okay here is the story why I ended up taking pictures of our smoke alarm up in the ceiling.
I was at the kitchen trying to be supermom feeding Justine and Jake both at the same time while cooking. Yes, I was also trying to cook food for myself. I put the wok on the stove, turn the stove high and then left to feed the kids. Then, I got up went to the fridge to get some egg, and also had the dried fish ready. I totally forgot that I had something on the stove. It was start creating smoke when I notice it, and stupid part of me instead of get it out of the stove I poured something on it like a little oil. It did make any fire at all but the smoke was all over the place that made this smoke alarm went off. It alarm for for a while and I had to turn everything off and go to the hall way and fan the smoke off from the smoke detector. I did that for seconds until it stop making some noise. I'm glad no one came in when the alarm went off, that would be so embarrassing. I learned a lesson from that though, never cook while you are busy with something else. Do your job one at a time.

Smoke detectors are one of those amazing inventions that, because of mass production, cost practically nothing and save thousands of lives each year as well. All smoke detectors consist of two basic parts: a sensor to sense the smoke and a very loud electronic horn to wake people up. Smoke detectors can run off of a 9-volt battery or 120-volt house current. It is recommended that every home have one smoke detector per floor. Learn how this stuff works @ howstuffworks.com

Lost – Homecoming Episode

In the middle of season one of the popular cable television series "Lost" viewers are introduced to a mysterious character. The character goes by the name of Ethan and no one is really sure where he came from. Survivors soon find out that Ethan was never actually on the plan and that he originated on the island. Latter on Ethan abducts Claire and Charlie for no apparent reason. As Jack, Kate, Locke, and Boone are tracking them through the jungle Jack is attacked by Ethan. Ethan explains to Jack that if they do not stop following him he will kill one of kidnapped survivors. Jack refuses to give up and soon finds Charlie hanging from a tree. All attempts to find Claire have failed until one day she comes stumbling out of the jungle with an apparent case of amnesia.

Claire's return is somewhat mysterious. They cannot figure why Ethan would let her go or even why he wanted her to begin with. As I was watching this episode on satellite TV last night I was surprised to find out that Ethan never let Claire go. He now wants Charlie to bring her back to him. He attacks Charlie and tells him that if he does not bring her back he will start to kill the other survivors until he does.

Claire seems to have no knowledge of anything that happened up until she got on the plane. This is very frustrating for viewers because it opens up all kinds of new questions. After Ethan kills one of the survivors, even though they were trying hard to keep an eye out for intruders, they decided to use Claire as bate to capture Ethan.

We Need a Ceiling Fan

My family and I live in a decent house. It serves our needs adequately, and it held up reasonably well this past winter when we got that record breaking amount of snow. One of the things that we do not have is a ceiling fan. With summer basically here now, we could use a ceiling fan to keep the air circulating. Too me, ceiling fans are more than just a cool breeze in the hot weather. They add an extra dynamic to the room and give the room a more homogeneous look. We are going to buy a house soon, and we want a house that either has ceiling fans or has a structure that would be satisfactory for ceiling fans. Stay cool for the summer.

Finding an Insurance Quote

My husband and I agree that we simply can not live without our car. Cars are expensive, and the upkeep for a car is expensive too. A couple of years ago, we decided to get an auto insurance quote from a different insurance company and found that we could have it for much less than we were previously paying. We have two small children, so anytime we find a way to save money, we take advantage of it. Maybe with the money that we save, we can go for a short vacation this summer and ride on our new bicycles. The kids will love it, and I feel that we deserve it.

Allergy Sucks

Spring time is also allergy season. Both my kids and my husband this year got allergy from the trees, pollen and moisture. It really sucks because they had hard cough and runny nose. I don't have any allergy with this kind of season or flowers, pollen whatever but I was also hit a little by the allergy. I had sore throat and cough. I'm glad the doctor prescribed us with some allergy relief medicine and helped ease the allergy. I don't know if the spring allergy is still around because I noticed that my son's eyes yesterday were kind of red and watery. And this morning it looks okay again. Maybe he is lack of sleep or he rubbed his eyes. I hope it's not from the allergy because I hate it if one of children is not feeling well.

TCP : Nine Months

Nine Months is a romantic comedy film (1995)with stars Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore. The movie is a US remake of the French movie Neuf mois and served as Grant's first US starring role. Other may find the movie boring but I for me I think it was alright and funny. There are some drama in the movie when Rebecca decide to leave Samuel. And her absence made Samuel realize how he love her. I enjoyed watching the movie and Robin William did a great job as a vet doctor who become their doctor during the delivery. It was funny and incredible movie to watch if you want to laugh. For more Hugh Grant movie to watch stop by at Kikamz's Just About Anything as host of this Tuesday Couch Potatoes meme.

Plot summary
Runtime: 1 hr 55 mins
Genre: Comedies
Starring: Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore, Tom Arnold, Joan Cusack, Jeff Goldblum, Robin Williams
Director: Chris Columbus

Child psychologist Samuel Faulkner's (Hugh Grant) ideal romance with ballet teacher Rebecca Taylor (Julianne Moore) is turned upside-down when he learns he's going to be a father. His fears mount due to his encounters with an overbearing couple, Marty (Arnold) & Gail (Cusack) their unruly daughters and the confusing advice he gets from his perpetually single artist friend (Jeff Goldblum). Too uninvolved with Rebecca's needs, Samuel parts company with her and takes a last stab at playing the field, but when he sees an ultrasound of his soon-to-be-born son, he decides that it's time to take responsibilities before it's too late. Robin Williams as Rebecca's Russian OBGYN adds to much of the comic relief of the film.

Unfinish Job

Joe and I can't figure out what to do the garden in our front yard. He already bought gardening tools and couple of work gloves before the spring season started. He finished cutting those big twigs or branches in the backyard and the one along the walk. I trimmed and pulled the weeds in our front yard but then it started growing again. Then, couple of weeks ago the owner of this sent someone to do the landscaping. That was really a good thing but the man hasn't come back until now. We have to wait for him to come back and finish his job. I pulled some of the weeds again yesterday and cut those rose that was fully bloomed.

Make You Work Efficient

It was few weeks ago when I heard from my friend that they were busy with the paper works at school. This is part of the teacher’s job every time the school year ended. They were busy making grades, checking forms and reading the forms. These are the job I missed back home. I remember during my first year of teaching when I write grades manually including my name for signature in the report card and form 18E. It was a pain in the neck doing such but then the next year I used rubber stamps for the date, name and principal name to all the paper works that needed to be checked and submitted at the end of the school year. It made my work more efficient and had it done in no time. I just missed those times and teaching kids. Next month classes will start again and I'm sure teachers are busy with their seminars and enrollment. Teaching is indeed a noble job that requires dedication and patience. They only had few weeks to enjoy the summer and then back to work again. They deserve a raise for all their hard work.

TCP - The Day the Earth Stood Still

It's Tuesday Couch Potatoes once again which is every Tuesday movie lover will showcase movies they like the fit to the theme. For the 18th edition of Tuesday Couch Potatoes, couchers will features movies about Apocalypse; which is literally means the "revelation" the idea of an end of the world, or final battle something like that. My pick would be the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still starring Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly. It is a good movie if you just want something to watch or kill some time. I like the part where people and the city started to disappear and keanu is the only hope to stop or save the earth. The kid Jaden Smith did a great job in portraying his character, he is a good actor. So, those who haven't watch the movie you should watch it.

Starring: Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Jaden Smith, John Cleese, Jon Hamm, Kyle Chandler, Kathy Bates
Director: Scott Derrickson
Genre: Science-Fiction/Fantasy

Synopsis: A remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic of the same name, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL follows astrobiologist Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) as she is unceremoniously plucked from her everyday life... A remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic of the same name, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL follows astrobiologist Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) as she is unceremoniously plucked from her everyday life with her stepson (Jaden Smith), and whisked away to consult the government on a top-secret matter. That matter happens to be the arrival of a massive glowing sphere in Central Park, accompanied by a towering robot-like protector dubbed Gort and an alien ambassador named Klaatu (Keanu Reeves), who takes up human form to communicate with the people of Earth. When Klaatu finds himself faced with hawkish, uncompromising officials, he goes on the run with Benson and her son as the fate of the world gradually becomes clear. Directed by Scott Derrickson (THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE), this reimagining of THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL is fairly reverent to the original film, while adding a number of 21st-century elements, most notably a darker tone embodied by a more threatening Gort and the chilly, contemplative Klaatu, who is portrayed with pitch-perfect remove by Reeves. While the film--and the fate of humanity--rests on Reeves's shoulders, the cast is impressively filled out by Connelly and Smith, along with Kathy Bates, John Cleese, and familiar TV actors Jon Hamm (MAD MEN) and Kyle Chandler (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS). Derrickson also tempers excellent special effects with a bleak color palette and plenty of existential turmoil, making this EARTH a thoughtful and fascinatingly moody blockbuster.

Shopping Deals

I'm always on the look out for every sale and shopping deals I could get online. The last time I shop online they have an offer of free shipping if you buy 3 tops. I checked out the site and found nice tops for as low as $6.99 so I ordered 3 and got free shipping. I also included two other items that I found in the clearance sale. I'm just enjoying the free shipping offer. If I had enough money in my paypal I could have ordered more like shoes. Shopping for shoes is one of my weaknesses but it will take me a while to find the right kind of shoes that I like. I fancy a shoe that is simple and have classic style. I found a website that has tons of beautiful display of shoes and offers coupon code. You can use coupons to buy shoes online. They have great deals of shiekh shoes coupons right now, so you better check it out before it will expire. I just bought shoes online months ago and sandal the last time I went shopping at the mall. I'll pass for shopping right now because I'm out of budget. I change my birth control prescription and it cost a lot of money. I also would like try to save so I can buy that nice camera that I found online.

There are lots of things you can do this summer. You can go to the beach and have splashing experience with the sea. You need to have honda generators which is useful when you go for camping and road trips. Camping is not in our list to do this summer. Our plans are go for more bike rides with the kids and mother-in-law. Joe also plan of taking us to the zoo next week and this summer too. He promises to take us for strawberry picking in Butler County. But I'm really hoping he will take us to the beach or pool maybe for Jake to enjoy the water and experience swimming. So far, these are our plans for summer hope it will happen. Next year, Jake will be 3 years old and Justine will be 2 years old maybe we can go for camping by that time. Start planning for summer adventure now and enjoy.

How to Ride a Bicycle

Riding a bike is avery common form of exercise for most people here in the US. While in other asian countried they ride a bike as transportation in going to work. In the Philippines not all of us knows how to ride a bike because when we were little our parent won't buy us bicycle. Buying bike for us there is like buying a car because it's expensive. Although, other people can afford to buy their kids bike and thats a good thing. In my case I learned to ride a bike because my Mom got us a second hand bike when we were little but we are not allowed to ride with it. My neighbor had a bike so I try to learn how to ride a bike using their bicycle and then when I got all the balance I sneak out the bike everytime my Mom is not around. That's how I learn to ride a bike and grow up loving it even if I didn't have my own bike. Anyhow, riding a bike is pretty easy for people who knows how to ride but for those who doesn't they find it hard to learn. I read and article online that give step by step direction on how to get started in riding bicycle.

wikiHow
Get ready
1. Get a bike. Buy a new one, since you don't know if you'll stick with it. One size too small is good for learning, but plan to ride on the correct size later. For middle aged adults, get a balance bike without pedals, such as a Kiddimoto.
2. Wear protective gear. Shoes are a must - no sandals. Long pants, long sleeves, helmet, and gloves are a good idea.
3. Go somewhere flat and car-free. Take the bike to a large, vacant paved area (for example, a school parking lot on a weekend). The area should be flat and free of obstacles such as bumps, parked cars, pedestrian traffic, people playing games etc. Grass is softer, but much harder to ride in. Be sure to check whether bicycling is allowed should you select a public park as your practice area.

Steps

Primary Method

Prepare the bike. Consider lowering the seat; it helps a lot.

1. Get to know bike balance. Push yourself along with your feet and get the feel of how the bike leans and steers. Do this for 30-45 minutes or so, until you have a good feel and some confidence about steering the bike. Try pushing yourself along fast and "gliding" with your feet up in the air, just steering with your hands. Notice the tendency of your body to lean slightly into the curve to keep balance when just using your hands to steer. When you are up to it, instead of using your hands try to make turns with your body and let the bike follow you, you'll notice that the front wheel will also make the turn automatically. This is the key bike-riding skill, that of balancing and steering. Take as much time with this step as you need to feel confident.
2. Get ready to ride. Re-attach the pedals to the bike. Raise the seat a bit, but still keep it low enough, so that you can touch the ground with the tip of your toes while seated.
3. Hold the bike with the handlebars and just walk it around the area.
4. When you have got the balancing feeling, go to the top of the slope and try to get on the front of the bike. (Not on the seat but in front of it!) You should be able to stand. (Note: Always stand at the top of the bike when going on!)
5. When you are on the front of the bike, walk down holding the handlebars. (It may look silly but don't worry.)
6. After you have done that a couple of times, go to the top of the slope and raise your left foot off the ground. Then kick with your right foot. (Similar to walking but with the left foot above the ground.)
7. Do this 2-3 times and then go to the top of the slope again and put your left foot suspended in the air. This time, try to "glide" by kicking less and going 3-5 feet between kicks.
8. Now try with the left foot kicking and the right foot off the ground.
9. Ok, now you've done the hard part. Once you've got the hang of this, try to go up to 10 feet without kicking. (Don't worry it isn't that hard once you've got the hang of it).
10. This time when you're going down try to sit on the bike seat, after about 3 feet of gliding. Your feet should still be able to touch the ground, if they aren't then adjust the seat lower.
11. Do this about 3 times and then when you are going down put your left foot on the pedal. But do not move it, still using right foot to glide down.
12. Now do that again but with the opposite feet.
13. Once you are comfortable doing it, try to put both feet down after gliding. (You should be able to go 20+ feet with gliding now.) Practice this until you feel comfortable going to the next step.

14. Once you've gained enough speed, try to pedal ONCE with the feet once you are sitting on the seat and both feet are on the pedals.

15. Try to pedal more times slowly, working your way up to 2,3,4, etc...

16. When you feel you've mastered the pedaling, try a 'cold start' on flat ground. First put your pedals in a horizontal position, put your left foot on the pedal and keep the right foot on the ground or the other way around if it is more comfortable. Then Use your right (or left if you chose the other way) foot to give yourself some initial speed while pushing down the pedal with your left (or right), draw your (right or left) foot up to the pedal and start pedaling right away.

17. Find a spot with an EASY turn or a large area, when you are going down and have gained a good speed try to slightly turn(without pedaling) to the right, then left.

18. Now we go to an important part: braking. Depending on what kind of brakes your bike will differ the training. When using hand brakes, the front brake is the primary brake. On paved surfaces, you should try to apply the front brake about three times as hard as the rear. If the rear wheel starts to skid, you should reduce pressure on both brakes evenly. On loose surfaces it will be better to apply the rear brake with more force than usual to prevent the front wheel locking up. If your bike has foot-brakes (more common in the USA than in Europe ) try to get the pedals in a horizontal position before braking, that way you'll be able to exert more braking power. Practice slowing down (correctly) when trying to stop going downhill. Put your left foot as low as the pedal goes and step on the ground with the right foot once you have slowed enough. The same goes for riding uphill but you won't have to use the brake as much, just wait for it to slow down.

19. Now you have learned how to ride downhill, just practice turning and you will be fine. (Note: For most slopes you will just need to glide.)

20. Now we will get to a harder part, going uphill. Start by going to a very SLIGHTLY uphill area. Start as you normally do except this time start by putting your left foot on the pedal to help gain speed easily, (Do this when you are going to go downhill too once you are used to it.) make sure the pedal is high up so you have a long distance to push. Push the pedal with the left(or the right) leg and the ground with the right (or the left) and you should be moving. Practice this 4-6 times!

21. Once you can do that and go 10 feet, then try to glide, then once you've gained balance try to sit on the seat and pedal.

22. Turning when going uphill is different and more difficult from turning downhill. It is the same concept but you have to gain very much speed to do so. Also make sure that you aren't pedaling while turning, unless you are in need of more speed.

23. Well that's all there is to learning to ride a bike! Practice daily and you will become good at it!

24. Ride. Once you can balance, pedal, start, and stop, (in this order) you're a bicycle rider. Congratulations!

Secondary Method

1. Sitting on the bike, make sure you know where the brakes are and how to operate them.

2. You have to learn to balance the bike. Find a person who can hold your bike behind you and try to steady it as you pedal.

3. After practicing for a couple minutes, the person can release his or her hands while you try to keep your balance.

4. When you are ready, ride alone. But first lower the seat until you can sit on it and put both feet flat on the ground.

5. When you are confident you can put your feet on the pedals and coast for a few feet, try not putting your feet down to train your sense of balance. Do this for 30-45 minutes or so, until you have a good feel and some confidence about steering the bike.

6. As you gain experience, raise the seat up so that only your toes can touch the ground while you are seated. This is the more appropriate height for your seat.
7. Finally, you have to practice.

8. Once you can balance, pedal, start, and stop, you're a bicycle rider. Congratulations!

MYM- Bike Ride

MellowYellowBadge

We went for a bike ride last Sunday at Eliza Furnace Trail right by the river. The trail starts at greenfield ends in downtown. I took this sign right where the trail ends and we were taking a break and fed the hungry mouths.
The lil lambschop was thirsty that she drink all the apple juice. She fell asleep in the carriage. I think she like the motion while sitting inside that cute little carriage we got last saturday for the both ofthem J&J.
The little guy stretching and exploring the place while eating his crackers.
This was the bike rental place and on to is the train trail.
You can also see the map found along the trail, in the starting point as well as the end part of the trail.

That was a fun experience for us. Jake love it so much that he was asking for more while the Justine...hmm you can't really tell if she likes it or now as long as there is food that came with the whole trip and thats all she cares. hehe How about you folks, how was your weekend?
