We went to Raccoon Creek State Park with the Cottrill today to celebrate Justine's first birthday. Actually, her exact birthday will be on Aug. 3 and that would be on Tuesday but We wanted the kids to have blastful fun to play with each other and enjoy the creek before summer ends that is why Bading and I planned this event. Anyhow, I just found out today that the name of this plant is butterfly bush and saw these butterflies and bumble bees sucking for food in it. I just learned that from Badingding today at raccoon creek. Pretty creature huh.

Travelling with a Baby and a Toddler

Travelling with a Baby and a Toddler is never easy. You need to organized everything so the trip will go smoothly and avoid any possible delays and stress as well. You need to bring different material and toys to keep the kids busy and occupied. Food, snacks or anything to munch on for the kids are very important because they become monster when they are hungry. Let them have to have a good sleep before the trip so they won't get tired, and over stimulated during the whole duration of your flight.




So far, our trip to NYC was considered great. It was not perfect but it was great enough for us not to get stress during the plane ride, check in, check out and more. That trip was Justine's first plane ride and she did a good job. We got up early and went to the airport early to have more time just in case of traffic, delays, or any other circumstances. We got lucky to catch the Shuttle bus from where we parked our car to the airport check in area. We checked in 1 big suit case, and two car seat while carry a small carry on, a stroller and our bag and purse. We paid additional $25 for the car seat though.

Moreover, on our plane trip back to Pittsburgh went smoothly as well. Carrying both car seat was a pain in a neck but we made it through the day. As usual, we went to the airport early, and checked in our stuff so we don't have to carry more heavy stuff. I am proud of Jake and Justine they were such a good baby on the plane. Jake enjoyed watching the plane while waiting almost an hour or two for our flight to Pittsburgh. And so was Justine, she enjoyed walking around the airport and following Jake around. As long as you have the food for them whenever they get hungry the trip should be fine.






Overall that was a very good trip and wonderful experience for us. The next plane ride that my kids will have to experience would be a long hour flight to the Philippines in God time. Traveling with a baby and a toddler is never been easy but you can find ways to atleast listen the pressure and avoid any major problems or tantrums perhaps.

Watching Gran Torino

It's past midnight already and my housemates are already in lalaland. You probably wondering why i am still up in this wee hour of the night. We only have one computer and this morning i was kind of busy with everything and the husband was using the computer. The only time i could finish some of my blogging task is night time when the kids are sleeping. So, here I am watching Gran Torino while blogging.



Gran Torino is a good movie in 2008. It is an American drama film directed and produced by Clint Eastwood, who also stars in the film. The film marks Eastwood's return to a lead acting role after four years, his previous leading role having been in Million Dollar Baby, and Eastwood has stated that this is his final film as an actor. The film features a large Hmong American cast, as well as Eastwood's younger son, Scott Eastwood, playing Trey.stars Clint Eastwood.

It's a compelling tale of unlikely friendship that develops between a bigoted Korean war veteran and an Asian teen who under threat from some gangbangers, tries to steal his car: a cherry 1972 Gran Torino. It's a great movie with good story, so watch it if you have time.

Mellow Yellow Monday - Hi-5 DVD

This is the Hi-5 DVD that i got for my son as he was fascinated this show. He love watching this educational and fun entertaining show for children. He also brought this DVD when we went to NYC and showed it to his cousins. I bought this at eBay for 9.50 bucks with 15 songs in it and bonus kareoke. Pretty good deal huh!

You can also rent a bicycle or tricycle if you want to go foraride inthis place. The central Park is a big park and some tourist just prefer to ride to tour the whole central park.

NYC Here We Come!

Yes folks, we are in New York already. This is actually a scheduled post that I wrote before we leave Pittsburgh for New York City. This is now a vacation but more on a business trip. We have to take care of our personal purpose to the Filipino consulate in New York for the renewal of my passport. personal appearance is needed when you renew your passport. Of course this only apply for Filipino who is not a citizen yet. My passport will expired at the end of this year and we are planning for a trip to Philippines next year. I hopethis will be realize, not just plain plan. I hate it every time my husband move the date for our trip. Anyhow, we are also hoping we will enjoy thistrip and hopefully will able to visit any famous landmark in the Big Apple. We will stay at my SIL's place and will also meet some family friend. We decided to fly by plane because our car is old already and it's hard to take chances on it. So, friends and visitors thanks you for your visit. I reciprocate your visit once we get back here in the steel city.

Dancing with the Family

Dancing With The Stars is affectionately called DWTS in our house. We all love it for one reason or another, so we make it a point to not plan anything for Monday and Tuesday evenings. We usually pop a big bowl of popcorn for each of us and settle in to watch it together on cable tv Denver, CO.

I enjoy watching it because of the celebrity aspect of it. It's my guilty pleasure to watch the majority of them start out dancing as awkwardly as I do and then turning into ballroom divas and dynamos as the weeks fly by. My husband watches it for a few reasons. He really enjoys the chemistry between the three judges. He claims that is the main reason he watches but I have a feeling it may be the costumes the dancers wear too! The most important reason he watches along with us is because it is quality time we get to spend with our child.

Our ten year old daughter loves watching the professional dancers. She has had dance lessons for several years now and she enjoys watching the choreography and even imitating it at times. She will use her Daddy as her partner and it is definitely a Kodak moment to see her stern instructions when he has noodle arms or uncooperative feet. We all have different reasons for enjoying it, but truth be told, I don't think any of us would enjoy it quite so much if we weren't all three watching it. It is just the perfect family time for all of us. Hopefully it will not be canceled for a long time!

Our Weekend

Our weekend was kind of hot and relaxing kind of fun. The weather this past days had been extremely hot. It was humid and hot that it makes you want to take a dip in a cold water. Anyhow, even it it was hot and humid last Thursday we still went to the park because my dragons were tired of staying inside the house already. Jake made a decision to get into the car and Justine seconded that decision by crying if I sit on front of the computer. She kept pointing to the door or to the window with baby talk like she wants to go out now. So, we went to the park, and spent few minutes and had them play in the playground.

Then Saturday, we went to Slippery Rock to hang out with Granma. We drove 1 hour going there and good thing there wasn't any traffic. We just hang out and Mary fix the sprinkler so these two dragons can experience a different fun. The sprinkle was from her other grand kids in New York that they left it there. They used that same sprinkle when they were little. Grandma always have fun stuff for these two dragon. She has chalk for them to play on the front walk, ball and other stuff.


Then we ordered out for dinner and drove back home at 6:00 in the evening. 6:00 0 clock here still have lights out until 8:00 i think.

My pick would be Little Miss Sunshine. I have seen this movie on TV many times and I enjoyed watching it. The story in the movie is actually have similarity in this reality show toddlers and tiara. The parent will dress and put make up on their kids to make it look like a doll and they compete with other kids.
