FIRST TIME HOME OWNER

Guest post written by my buddy Royce Heath

My husband and I recently relocated. He took a teaching job at Texas Tech. It has been a big move. We moved from New England and everything is different. The weather is much warmer, the roads are much larger, and there are different types of critters that hop in my garden! Luckily, I have been able to control the critters in the garden. When we first got out here, we rented a place for a while. It was nice being able to rent a place a good price. We used to live in Boston and rentals were outrageous if you wanted to live in an area that was close to the schools. The apartment that we rented when we got out here was only one thousand dollars a month for a nice two bedroom. That included water, DIRECTV Lubbock, and trash removal. It was really nice to have everything included. We did decided though that it was time to buy a house after our first year. The housing prices are reasonable and we found a great little place. We are enjoying Texas and being first time home owners!
