6 Fun Ways to Escape the Summer Heat

The summer heat often makes people want to stay indoors and hibernate in the sweet cool air of a working air conditioner. However, there are fun ways to beat the heat. Here are some of the coolest ways to cool down.

Go Fish

Everyone remembers the fun, old game Go Fish. However, when the summer heat has set in and your home feels like a stuffy old shoe box, going fishing is a great idea. Take off your shoes and wade into the river while you cast your lure. Enjoy the mist from the rushing water as you sit in the shade of a large tree. Fishing is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while you stay cool.

Swan Dive Into the Deep End

Invest in a summer pass to the local pool. Your entire family will love heading off to the clean, crisp waters that allow swan diving, lap swimming, and even sliding into the pool. Make sure you find a pool that has good reviews and ratings, and check their certificates for violations. Some pools have had issues with water-borne illness in recent years, but there are still thousands of other pools that you can use.

If your home AC isn't working then you should head out to the store. Most shopping centers pump the AC like it's free because they want their shoppers to be cool enough to keep on shopping. So, the next time you feel stifled and hot at home, first call your local AC installation company to get your issue fixed, and then head out shopping for some free AC and food samples.

Enjoy a New Movie

Whether you like dramas or comedies, one thing is sure: every movie is delivered in a dark, cool room. You can enjoy the free AC while you munch on refreshing treats like frozen grapes or ice cream. Movies are a great choice for families that need to get out of the house during the day, but can't stand the oppressive heat.

Play Bingo With Seniors

Stop thinking of what you want and need, and give back to the community. Senior citizens are holed-up in senior facilities all over the United States, often without visitors or friends. If you want to do something thoughtful, then pack up your family and head over to the center to play bingo with new, old friends. Also, the assisted living facility will be air-conditioned and well ventilated, keeping you out of the sun and cool.

Get a Cool Treat

When summer is hot and your belly is rumbling, there's really only one thing to do: get a frosty treat at your local ice cream shop or smoothie store. Choosing something free of dairy will keep you feeling good all day. If you want to make a special occasion of it, allow each of your kids to invite one friend for the frozen treat.

Avoid the summer heat by choosing air-conditioned venues and fun activities. Get a frozen treat to cool down your internal temperature, and remember to get your exercise later by running in sprinklers.

Going to the mall or grocery store are one of my favorite things to do during summer time. I don’t know why, but it seemed like a part of me doing errands while keeping cool. I also love to treat myself with cold beverages during high temperature, it makes me feel better.

Among the ways mentioned, going to the store/mall is my favorite solution to beat the summer heat! Given that I have some moolah for a shopping spree because if I don't, the bills of our credit card will surely reach the heavens! LOL.

Those are wonderful ideas to beat the summer heat. We just always remember to keep hydrated during summer season as the heat of the sun can really drain you out.
