War In the Same Country

It saddened me to think that a fellow Filipino is at war against each other. Filipino against Filipino fighting for what exactly are the fighting for? This war had been since the time i remembered and now it gotten worst I think. My brother is currently assigned in Zamboanga area and I think they are not allowed to go out because of this war. You can view the video about Zamboanga Clash brought to you by ABS-CBN news.

The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) rebels held some civilians hostage in Zamboanga City after a clash with government troops erupted Sunday evening. Zamboanga City Mayor Isabelle Climaco said at least 20 civilians are now being used as "human shields" by the MNLF rebels who are trying to take over the city. Climaco said she received a report that a soldier died but she has no figures on the number of injured. She said some 400 MNLF rebels are involved in the ongoing skirmishes. ABS-CBN News Zamboanga reports 2 civilians died and 4 were wounded after rebels attacked jeepney passengers in Barangay Talon-Talon. Read source

The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) mission is to establish their own nation. I have heard this before during the time of former president Ramos or must be Aquino's time i think. They have been fighting the same goal since immemorial which is very impossible because they belong the in same country and separating Mindanao where the MNLF base is at from the Philippine doesn't make sense. I think it was last year also when another group of rebel abush some part of Bukidnon where i grew and hostage a few people that works in the company where they asked for a certain demands. That place used to be so quiet. I wonder when this Muslim group in Mindanao such as MILF, Abusayaf and other rebel will stop fighting for this so called mission. They should accept the fact that they belong in the same country. They live in the Philippines, therefore they are called Filipino regardless of their group Muslim.

I just wish and hope that my brother is safe and will be able to come home to his family the soonest. Pray for this war to stop and pray for the safety of our people in the Zamboanga.
