Summer Staycation

Most of us don't have a lot of money to throw around. However, that doesn't stop us from wanting to take a vacation at least once a year. However, planning a vacation for a family can be costly and impractical, especially if you are on a budget. However, there are budget friendly ways to get the much-needed vacation you desire and still keep your funds intact. It may mean making a few sacrifices but the fun meter won't waver and you won't have to travel far. When you opt for a staycation you save a lot of money. Plus, the benefits are worth staying in town.

Gas & Travel Costs
Perhaps one of the biggest benefits of a staycation is all the money you save on gas and other travel costs. When you take a vacation in town there are no long trips to fuel up for. Plus there is no need to pay for airfare for the whole family. The most you will be doing is driving across town to the hotel. You will also drive to the entertainment venues that you choose during your stay. That's not a lot of gas compared to an out of town trip. This means that you can keep all that extra money you would have spent on gas, in your wallet. Gas can be expensive, but airfare can be astronomical. The staycation eliminates all those expenses.

Entertainment
Fuel and travel cost can eat up a big portion of a vacation budget. This is why removing the travel portion is an extremely savvy move that frees up money to spend on entertainment. This is one of the reasons why staycations can be very attractive. If you want to buy tickets to the Superbowl and a staycation has made this possible, the staycation has done what it was supposed to. It's put money back in your pocket and made room for bigger entertainment.

Time
Another huge benefit of the staycation is the time you save. A staycation allows you to get to the fun right away. You cut out travel time which not only frees up money but time as well. This means that your vacation starts almost immediately. There is no waiting for your plane to land and no reason to suffer through a long drive to another city. Your vacation can begin in minutes as opposed to hours or days.

More Money
Staycations make a lot of room in a budget that was once tight. Cutting out travel saves both time and money. That savings can be used in other areas of your vacation. However, most people don't realize how much money cutting travel puts back into the budget. It can be hundreds are thousands depending on where you were going. This surplus money leaves a lot of room to spend money on that fancy restaurant or more premium entertainment or those cornhole gifts.

Staycations are a smart vacation alternative for the cash strapped family. The elimination of travel is a savvy way to add more fun and luxury into a vacation. Take the plunge and stay at home for this vacation. You will have the time of your life.
