Every time we put the little Miss in her car seat, she always whaling so hard that it was the terrible thing in the world. She has car motion and she doesn't like to be strapped in for a very long period of time. A drive to Slippery Rock takes an hour and the road in Pittsburgh are more hills and winding. I sometimes feel nauseous when getting out Pittsburgh area. As soon as we got our from the bridge here in Greenfield, the little Miss started crying and said she had a boo-boo in the belly. That was alarming though because the last time she said she had a boo-boo in the tummy she threw up.

Gladly, we arrived in Slippery Rock without anybody throwing up. They're booth happy to see grandma and the little Man cleaned up the last cash I had in my wallet. There's a dollar general at the back of MIL house and she was dragging me to go there and buy toys.

This is one of the many bridges in Pittsburgh, PA. I able to take a closer shot on it when we were at Point State Park during the 4th of July. There are tons of bridges in Pittsburgh area and most of them are painted with yellow. There were also black bridge for the train tracks and green.

If you have children, then you're probably already very aware that they're growing up in a world that is likely to be much tougher than the one in which you grew up. Language Learning on Holiday

Holidays can be a great opportunity to add to your children's language skills. You could start by booking them on to a language course while you are on holiday: not only would a course be a good chance for them to learn language, it would be a good way for them to make some new friends too. If you have family connections abroad and want your children to learn the language of the country in which your family live, then make sure you take regular holidays there. Family members are usually very happy to help out with a little informal language teaching. While you're on holiday, take opportunities to casually reinforce learning without making it seem like a chore – if make it seem like work, you risk turning them off. For example, get them to read menus and order their own food in restaurants and cafes; ask them to read any signs or posters you see around; and generally encourage interactions with locals. The ipod was from her also because I asked her to buy me a new ipod but instead she gave it to me her old ipod and the new one that she bought went to my sister. Yard Sale and Furniture

This corner furniture was one of the item we bought at our neighbor's yard sale. The previous owner were planning to moved to Philadelphia so they're trying get rid of all their furniture and appliances including cabinet, Bellini modern bar stools and even those expensive collection they had. We got lucky to passed by at their house when they started the yard sale. I wanted to buy the stool but it was a bit expensive because it was new. That was my chance of getting a stool though because I know it would be so tough on us to buy new furniture for our our bare house. As much as I wanted a new furniture but the budget won't allow us. Before the year ended I also able to buy a China Cabinet from craiglist. Thanls to a friend who shared the link to the website to me. The stool and dining set has to wait for a long while as we do not have budget for it. Home improvement is quiet expensive and we are saving money for it.

Point State Park in Downtown Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA, at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, forming the Ohio River.

The park also includes the outlines and remains of two of the oldest structures in Pittsburgh, Fort Pitt and Fort Duquesne. The Fort Pitt Museum, housed in the Monongahela Bastion of Fort Pitt, commemorates the French and Indian War (1754–1763), in which the area soon to become Pittsburgh was a major battlefield.

This place is just 10 to 15 minutes drive away from our place. We can even see this buildings from where we live. But the driver (husband) is too lazy to take us out there. There are so many fun things in this place. There's a museum that I've been wanting to go.

10 Tips for Printing Great Photos

In the days of film cameras, the ability to edit and enhance photographs belonged to photo labs with specialized equipment. In the twenty-first century, that ability resides in almost any computer and some websites. The one attribute that is the same regardless of the passage of time is the quality and resolution of the photo at the time it is taken. Some adjustments are possible, but other changes are not within the realm of reason after the photo image has been captured. To print beautiful photos, follow these steps every time:

Picture Taking and Preparation

Only movie producers can use a picture taken by a cheap cell phone to produce a close-up printed picture that shows every minute detail. For the rest of us, there are certain details that must be addressed prior to taking pictures.

1. Increase Resolution

High-resolution images will require more space on the memory card in the camera. Five or six megapixels will capture sufficient detail for printing standard- size prints. Ten megapixels can be used if large prints will be produced from the images. Resolution modifications are easier to make in the software when the image has high-resolution.

2. Use TIFF format

JPEG file format is fine for email and website display, but TIFF files retain more detail when printed on paper. Translation from the digital image to the printed image is easier for most printers when the TIFF format is used in the camera and while storing the image on the computer disk.

3. Edit Images

Easy-to-use computer software is available for enhancing colors and cropping the size and shape of the subjects in the photograph. Resolution can be retained while applying changes to the image. Changed images should be saved to another filename to retain the original image downloaded from the camera.

Printer Preparation

Selecting the right printer for the number of photos that will be printed is an important part of achieving excellent results. Manufacturers strive to produce printers that meet multiple needs for the consumer. Specialty printers are available for people who have more specific requirements for photo printing.

4. Align The Print Heads

Printer management software offers the option to execute an alignment program that ensures the print heads are aligned with the hardware. This simple procedure should be performed with regular paper in the machine.

5. Configure Print Settings

Printers offer the option to reduce the print quality for various tasks to save ink. Pictures should be printed with the finest possible setting on the print quality option. While the image will require more ink, the human eye will appreciate the fine colors printed in the image on the highest resolution setting.

6. Match Settings To Paper Type

Glossy paper and matte paper will require different print settings to achieve superior results for each printed picture. The print manual will specify how to change the setting in the printer for each paper type.

7. Test The Settings

Send a small photo to the printer with all of the settings in place for the printing project. Examine the result to ensure that the image reveals clear color separation and appropriate details. Allow the print to dry before proceeding to the next step.

Print Great Photos Every Time

A great combination of high-resolution digital images and appropriate print settings will result in beautifully printed images. Printer supplies are just as important as the previous steps.

8. Select Image Size

Most photographers have an idea of the size of prints that will be produced from the images captured with the camera. Standard 4-by-6-inch photos can be printed from a three to five-megapixel image with remarkable clarity. Extremely high-resolution images should be modified to lower the resolution to prevent overloading the printer. Aligning the digital image resolution with the printer resolution will provide better image quality on paper.

9. Use High-Quality Ink

Printer manufacturers produce ink that is designed to produce the best possible results from their hardware. Ink substitutions might result in poorer print quality, which is noticeable in photo clarity and longevity of the photo.

10. Choose Superior Paper

Certain printer manufacturers produce paper that is designed for the printer models produced by the company. One package of the photo paper that is designed for the printer will convince the photographer that high-quality paper makes all the difference for print projects.

Final Word

Practice will make the photographer more comfortable with the process of preparing the images and printer for the final steps where beautiful pictures come forth from the printer. If you are approved for an unsecured loan, there probably won't be as much room for negotiating. Banks feel more comfortable with flexibility when dealing with secured loans, since there's something concrete that they can take away if payments stop coming in. Otherwise, getting payment back from an unsecured loan can be a little tricky.

With the right credit score and financial history, there's a good chance you can negotiate on most loans you take out. If you're young or new to the world of debt, you'll have less room to negotiate.

Last year we celebrated Jake's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. Jake had great time playing with those rides although he was kind of scared at the rat. This is what Jake looked like when he was still sick. It was funny because the day before he got the colds and cough he said he will be sick tomorrow.

Justine was the first one who got colds and cough. Jake wanted to have that medicine that Justine had been drinking and I said he can't have it because he is not sick. And he answered, "I will have cough and cold tomorrow, I will be sick tomorrow". I laughed at how he said it, so innocent and no idea how being sick feels like.

Indeed, he got sick the next day. I guess he was right hehe.

Glad we all feel a little better now. Just some runny nose and cough.

The last time we went to the mall was a week before Christmas. We haven't gone out in a while and we all got bored already. We were supposed to go to Sesame Street show last Saturday but the husband did not want to drive in that snowy road. We also got up past 10 so, we decided to cancel that date.

Today the kids had great time in the mall that they never want to come home yet. As usual we spent a bunch of quarters again in those rides and still not enough. Ohh kids, even the word enough is not enough. What are you gonna do with that, well grabbed the little girl and headed fast to the car. I also fooled Jake to get quarters in the car.

There are so many things to see inside the museum. And if you happen to be at the Museum of Science and Industry, make sure you won't come home without exploring all the fascinating exhibits that are very educational.

Last time we went there it was frustrating that we had to come home as the kids started to get restless and the big guy also did not like the crowd. I really wanted to see more inside that building but the spoiler was not in his pleasant face anymore. First of The Month - Round 2 #1 - Money Maker Plant

We call this plant a money maker plant. I had no idea who invented that name I just heard that from a lady who was selling plant back in our home country. It looks like this plant wasn't making any money at all hehe.

Anyway, I joined the round 2 of Jan @ Murrieta 356 meme "First of the Month". "The goal is to capture one thing repeatedly on the first of each month. It can be a landscape, a person, an animal, a project; whatever your focus is, is fine. It can even be a record of where you are each First of the Month." I saw her first post when she started this meme last year but I wasn't ready to joined because we were just renting and I might now able to finished it or we might moved out which we did.

I bought this plant last spring and divided it into four different pots. I placed one of the pot inside the house and it's alive. This and the other two not looking good at all because of the weather. It starting to withered but I hope by spring this plant will survive.

If this plant will die before the year end, I have this empty cabinet that I just bought last week before the year 2011 ended. We'll see what are the things I can put inside every month.

Mom is Crazy

My mom is a real handful sometimes and of course, it’s my year to host her for Christmas. Well, we never usually take turns because my sister has kids but she called me a month ago and told me I had to take mom this year, that she was driving her crazy. So I’m trying to pull my weight and invited her in but I didn’t realize that would mean she would be staying with me for two whole weeks! That’s a long time to spend with anyone and since I live alone I’m VERY used to having my space…I can just feel it, we’re going to get into some huge fight over nothing like we always do. I got cable television for the house so mom could stay entertained all day while I’m working (she won’t have a car – great…) and hopefully that can fill up some of the empty silences between us. Don’t get me wrong, I love her, she can just be a lot to handle.

Bad Santa Photo

This photo would sure pass the standard in bad Santa Photo. I know Christmas day is over but the meaning of Christmas will stay in our heart. Anyway, this little man flipped out as soon as Joe told him to sit on Santa's lap. He was talking to Santa at first telling him what presents he wanted to get on Christmas.

He was excited to see Santa too. But I did not know why he flipped out. Maybe Santa intimidated him and got chickened out hehehe. The girl also refused to sit on Santa's lap because she saw Jake on the grown. She is a copycat and copy Jake all the time.

I was there in front all so ready to snapped a picture of Jake and Justine at Santa's lap. So, no Santa's lap picture this year but we have Santa and the boy on the ground. And because of that hilarious incident, Santa sent them a pillow, not one but 4 pillows. Two of them were from J and A hehe. Thanks guys for the pillow toys.

New and Wonderful Christmas

We had wonderful Christmas. This year's Christmas, we have done new stuff for the kids. First, I did not sent Christmas cards to all my friends online and yet I got some from them. i felt bad for it though but I'm just becoming lazy and feeling lousy this year's Christmas cards.

However, the kids had wonderful time baking some sugar cookies. In fact Jake been carrying his bucket of cookies everywhere. He was the one who reminded me to make cookies. We also made ginger bread house. I bought a pre-made ginger cookie and built it with J&J.

On Christmas day, my MIL drove over to Pitts to spent Christmas with us. That's the first time though. She got us a lovely Poinsettia with tons of presents and birthday gift for me. Thank you Mary for everything. This is also our first Christmas in our own house. That makes everything a lot different.

Look forward for a blessed and abundant New Year's to come, not just for 2012 but all through out the years.

On the Road in Rainy Days with Bad Wiper

Husband drives a 13 year old Mercury Sable and despite of age and dent, the car still works fine. But we won't take chance with this car to drive long distance like Chicago and beyond. So, when we visited the Windy City during the Thanksgiving Holiday, we used the MIL car. It was the same car also we usd 2 years ago.

It was raining non-stop during that drive and the husband complained about the wiper. I think the MIL had that wiper fixed, but the one who fixed it did not do any good job. There was a small triangular area in the front window right straight in the driver's seat that the wiper was not wiping. Good thing Joe and his mom are both good driver that despite of the rain and watery glass window, they still manage to drive smoothly and brought us safely to our destination. On our way back, we never experienced the same problem because it wasn't raining.

Seriously, how do I look? It was 4th of July and the family went to the Point State park at Pittsburgh downtown to watched some of the shows and activities. It was high noon when we went there and too early actually for the show. What would you do if you see a rat in your house? Perhaps, you would scream as your initial reaction because rats are not commonly seen here in the US. A shockingly face and a panic was my husband's reaction when he saw right before his eyes a tiny rat staring at him in the previous house we rented.

We lived in that house for two years. The first creature we saw when we moved there was a snake. It was summer when this snake hanging around at our backyard. The kids love to play at the backyard in our old house we rented but after we saw the snake in there that alarmed us. So, we stopped spending much time in the backyard. Since during that time we cannot afford to buy a house yet and we tried to avoid moving out because of the hassles that comes with it. Another uninvited critters I saw when I was doing my laundry at the basement. I saw this dead mouse lying on the floor of our stairs. I don't remember who said it, but someone, somewhere has said something to the effect that the only thing that changes with boys as they age is the expense and the potential danger of their toys. Still, some growing boys keep the spirit of toys going as they age in other ways. With their actual gas power, nitro RC cars are the more realistic version of toy radio controlled vehicles. I've been seeing more and more of them lately and I sure wouldn't trust an actual child with one of those. They can be a little bit frightening in a funny way that reminds me a little bit of that old show, "Battlebots" where the robots used to fight, but then I suppose that being a little bit scary is part of the fun.

Of course, that's not the only little boys game that got turned into something mostly for adult boys. Isn't the paintball phenomenon really just a grown up, and more painful, version of kids going out with cheap plastic weaponry to play "guns" or "war" or "cops and robbers" or whatever it is they called it in your neighborhood?

Still, though some guys can't get enough of inflicting pain on each other with balls of paint or playing with Nitro RC cars, there's nothing sweeter than seeing a dad and his little boy or girl shopping for actual kiddie toys. You can see the dads are often enjoying playing with the Matchbox cars, toy "Star Wars" light sabers, and what not more than the kids.

Surviving Family Road Trip

How would you handle the situation traveling more or less 9 hours by car with a screaming toddler? What would you do to survive the long hours drive without losing your cool?
Every family who take road trips have different driving situations, kids, drivers and passengers, and the number of hours. Well, in our case we drove 9 hours with one two year old toddler who doesn't like car motion and hate car seat. The fact that she hates being strap in with her car seat, hate small space, and hate not moving around. She exactly different with her 3 year old brother who is willing to go along and find ways to enjoy himself.

We made three stops in that 9 hours drive. Those hours that my little Miss was sleeping, we never made a stop and tried to control the urge of going to the bathroom. Until it came to the point that the little man had to go pee and potty so we decided to stop then the sleeping beauty woke up.

When you make a stop, do not let the kids see any traveling store to avoid spending money on some useless toys they find at the store. If you can distract them when going to the bathroom then do it and make alibis that doesn't sound like a lie. Anyway, since the girl was already up, the fussing and excruciating scream begun. If you sit in the middle try to talk to her some nonsense so you can distract her from getting bored. I did try giving her tons of things to do but it did not stop her from doing what she want and that was taking her strap off of her and standing in her seat while the car is running. We could get a ticket if a cop saw us but fortunately there wasn't much cop in that high way. However, letting her stand that few hours of the road trip was a relief hearing her scream.

Coke is not good for kids. But in order for my little Miss to sit still while the car is running is by allowing her drink the coke. As I have said, she doesn't like car motion and that was one of the things that made he feel uncomfortable. The coke helped her stomach to feel better and at the same time pre-occupied. Giving her drawing book makes her feel dizzy again so after the coke, she needed to moved around again and cry a bit of course. So, I let her stand for a while and sat in my lap for few minutes while the car was running.

Make some few stops to give the kids time to stretch out but if they're sleeping take advantage of that opportunity to stay on the road. According to my MIL who was also in the car with us (we were using her car during the road trip), despite of the screaming and fussing, my kids still pass as the good traveler baby or toddler. Singing, talking, and giving them what they want was helpful in surviving a family road trip.

Birthday Gift

My dearest babger celebrated his birthday just three weeks ago. I did not talk much about it on the day of his birthday because I already did the day before it. I wanted to buy gifts for him but he refused because he prefers cash than any material thing. And for me, cash is more convenient and easy to give than browsing online for gifts that he might now find interesting nor useful. He is very picky and choosy. Second Thanksgiving Trip To Chicago

We spent our Thanksgiving in Chicago. This was our second time spending Thanksgiving at SIL and her family in Chicago. The first one was in 2009 and Justine was still like 4 months old at that time.

Jake was pretty excited on that trip while Justine, well no so sure because she got up late and she was fussing the whole trip. Although there were few minutes that she wasn't crying, screaming, fussing and whining but she wasn't sitting properly either in her car seat. She prefers to stand up and got out from her seat belt.

The Museum of Science and Industry is pretty much a walking distance from their place so we walked going there the next day and stopped by at the playground. The Thanksgiving dinner was great with delicious foods and pies. Thank you guys for inviting us.

Family Thanksgiving and Holiday

The husband has a week off from work starting Monday which was couple of days ago plus a weekend off too. time to take a good break from everything and spend an exciting holiday with family. Thanksgiving is few days away in fact and we will be spending it somewhere else. We don't really care what the weather will be like as far as fun is concern.

Meanwhile, if you want to know where are we now, well make a wild guess. We drove to SR last Monday afternoon and took off the next day to where we headed. We arrived in the afternoon but since it was raining and because of the time saving, it was already dark at 5:00 when we got here. The trip was not as pleasant as every body would love to experience, but it's half way decent than expected. The kids took two long naps the whole trip which gave room for quiet time and we also made three stops on the way. Now that we are here, I don't want to think anything of our trip back home yet. My husband and I own a small business, and at times I wonder if it is worth the stress. One of the major positives is that we make our own hours and can schedule work how we would like. However, at times it can be very stressful. We own a window washing company that my husband started shortly before we met. He has been in the business for nearly ten years, but at times it can be difficult. I keep the books, and we have two employees along with my husband. The work is very labor-intensive in the spring, summer, and fall. However, in the winter time the work is very slow due to the cold. 1. Turkey is in the freezer now ready for Thanksgiving but not in our kitchen.

3. On and on and on we go like it never going to stop. It's a tradition.

4. The last time I saw her, she was thin now she was faaattt.

5. Can you believe it, I look like I lost weight but I still weigh the same.

6. I need a break, money and vacation.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finished at least couple of task so my day will make sense, tomorrow my plans include shopping for couch, I hope. I'ts a long overdue home project but until now we still did able to buy a new couch to replace the suckishly couch we have and Sunday, I want to wifey or housemaid chores and stuffs!

Studio B by far is one of the top of the line buffet I've ever been to in Las Vegas. My sister and her husband are living in Las Vegas and they're familiar with the great places in strip when it comes to buffet. The place is so spacious with delicious food all over. I got overwhelmed which one I should try first. So, I went with the seafood since i was craving for sushi. It was the best.

Winter Clothing for the Kids

Went to Target last weekend to shopped for winter clothing. Kids sure grow so fast and outgrow their clothing so quick.
