What is L-Dopa?

L-Dopa is a naturally-occurring dietary supplement and psychoactive drug found in certain kinds of food and herbs, and is synthesized from the amino acid L-tyrosine in the mammalian body and brain.


This is the definition I learned about l-dopa from our reliable source Wikipedia. To be honest with you guy it's my first time to hear this word. There lots of certain medical and scientific terms that I really don't understand and find it hard to grasp as well. I read that one sources of L-Dopa is Mucuna Pruriens or velvet bean. Seriously, I never heard of this thing either. And according to source this velvet bean or Mucuna Pruriens is a good remedy of Ayurveda in nervous and sexual diseases. It is used as carminative, hypertensive and hypoglycemic agent. The Dopamine that converted from amino acid from L-Dopa is very important in keeping our body and muscles relax. Dopamine is an essential component of our body and it’s required for proper functioning of the brain. Since the human brain controls how we move our body thus the need for dopamine would help our brain to function well.
